Noël Alvarenga is a talented photographer and insanely cool Instagrammer from California, who recently spent time in Australia. He fell in love with the natural surrounds of his new home and joined a group of friends as they headed north on the ultimate road trip through Tropical North Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef Drive. Noël loves travelling the world, capturing life through his lens. His photography style is wonderfully unique and if you’re one of his 80,000+ fans you’ll know that he uses no faces or only partial faces so you can immerse yourself in the photo. His photos are posted with an accompanying song and a poetic caption, as he believes the music compliments the photo and helps you to visualise the scene.
Noël: “For me, creating or capturing moments and music go hand in hand. For anyone that’s shot alongside me, you’ll quickly notice that I’m always playing music from a speaker in my backpack when I’m out adventuring. The way I see it, it’s like my own personal soundtrack to the movie that is my life. Sometimes it’s happy, sometimes it’s sad but no matter the feeling, when I go out and photograph I have to have my tunes pumping through my body and soul. It’s been that way for as long as I could remember.”
Noël and his fellow grammers hit the ground running and hot on their road trip itinerary was Atherton Tablelands, Mission Beach, Port Douglas and Kuranda. Here’s just some of the photos that hit his feed and the songs he chose for the moment (Hint: Click the song title for a direct link to sound cloud)!
